Safemail Systems. Letterboxes and parcel lockers for apartment buildings. Auckland, since 2015.

Prices and how we work

Prices in NZ dollars. Nothing here is a starting bid.

Per-door prices include supply and install. The survey and written quote cost nothing inside the Auckland urban area.

Every rate we charge, on one page, so a committee can put a number in the minutes before anyone has to ask us anything.

Rough Numbers

Door estimator

Pick a finish and a door count. We add 10 percent to the top of the range, because some walls are awkward and we would rather say so now than on install day.

Finish

Minimum 8 doors for a new bank.

Estimate

$4,440 to $4,890

24 doors in powder-coated steel at $185 a door, with 10 percent on top for awkward walls.

The survey sets the real number. This is for the committee agenda, not the contract.

Saying No

What we turn down

Six jobs we decline, each with the reason, so nobody waits a week for a polite refusal.

  • Letterboxes for single houses

Fence posts and gate pillars too. The hardware store does those well and more cheaply.

  • Subscription-app parcel lockers

Residents should not have to sign up to anything to open a door in their own building.

  • Repainting a failing bank

If the bodies are rusted through, a new face just hides the problem for a year.

  • Cutting keys without written say-so

Only with written permission from the building manager or the committee, every time.

  • Second-hand units bought online

We can't stand behind locks when we don't know where they've been.

  • Cutting into fire walls unsigned

The building's engineer signs off the penetration first. Then we cut.

Next

Send the door count, the rough age of the building and a photo of the old bank, and the first reply can be a survey date.
